Hey! I picked up a review copy of this which I'm now betting might be worth a lot of money in a couple of years' time. This is a fantastic, can't-put-down read! Ian, I just hope you don't keep us waiting too long for the next instalment!

Congratulations on completing a whole month. Every day when I saw a new type of rock or stone in your blog it made me amazed at what our earth is made of. I collect carved elephants, and always strive to find them in different types of rock or stone. Your collection made me think of my elephants that are all packed in boxes in storage at the moment!

Anyway, I digress. A hearty congratulations for shooting and posting every day. It's a hard slog and you did a great job of it.

What an unusual rock for your last day. I wonder why it is full of holes like that. You've presented so many unusual and beautiful rocks this month. I only wish I knew more about them.
Congratulations on completing the 30 day challenge. It is quite a victory as it is a lot of work to not only shoot but get the images uploaded in time. It was fun to come and see the huge variety of rocks in your collection. Good luck in the final contest,
Maggie

looks like I may have missed a few days. I couldn't find these pics for some reason, I kept being brought to the other page.

Anyways. As for the bluish blacklit one, it does really look like a shell, so smooth and translucent, like the inner nacre. The last image that has a quite interesting shape makes me wonder if it weren't fashioned by someone thousands of years ago as a tool. Definitely looks like something you could hold (the thicker part) and use the thinner part as a blade to open fish or an animal. I know that many pieces of flint were used long ago and banged to create shapes as tools.
Only one more day to go, and one last rock to see.

Day 28 : Nice one celtic, the smooth texture and milky glow make it a really appealing stone, one just wants to touch it.
I've really enjoyed your rock shots and you've accumulated a really cool catalogue of shot to go with you very awesome collection of stones. All the best for the remaining days.
